In-Town Programs - Fall

Watertown Youth Soccer Fall 2012 In-Town Program INFORMATION

 

·         Programs are for children age 4 through 4^th Grade. 

 

·         Programs are organized by parent volunteers.

 

·         Soccer instruction provided by professional coaches from Boston Soccer Academy and parent volunteers.

 

 

 

Pre-K Little Kickers (MUST BE 4 yrs old on or before 9/7/2012) Registration Fee:  $45

 

Eight (one hour) sessions on Saturday afternoons for boys and girls…45 minutes of basic soccer skills in a non-competitive, energetic environment using fun games designed to build skills plus a short LOW pressure scrimmage.  TWO time slots are available...select one when registering.

 

 

 

Little Kickers (Kindergartners & 1^st Graders...Fall 2012 grade)Registration Fee:  $55

 

Eight (one and a quarter hour) sessions on Saturday mornings for boys and girls…50  minutes of basic skills using the BSA soccer curriculum plus 25 minutes of scrimmages.  Sessions focus on learning soccer skills, beginning rules of soccer and sportsmanship using age appropriate team building activities.

 

 

 

Skills Academy (2^nd, 3^rd and 4^th Graders...Fall 2012 grade)Registration Fee:  $85

 

Eight Saturday afternoon and six Wednesday evening sessions (each 1.5 hours) for boys and girls to learn and improve their soccer skills and understanding of the rules of the game in a fun, energetic environment.  Boys and girls typically train and scrimmage separately.  Small teams will be formed as the season progresses to teach teamwork and positioning.

Location:  Casey Playground (next to the old Parker School) Watertown Street, Watertown, MA

 

 

 

Dates:  September 15^th thru November 3^rd

 

Arrive 15 minutes early on September 15^th for check-in/T-shirt distribution!!!

 

 

 

Days/Times Little Kickers (Pre-K, K, 1^st Graders):

 

Kindergartners - Saturdays 9:15 to 10:30

 

First Graders - Saturdays 10:45 to 12:00

 

Pre-K - SESSION ONE – Saturdays 1:00 to 2:00

 

Pre-K - SESSION TWO – Saturdays 2:30 to 3:30

 

 

 

Days/Times Skills Academy (2^nd, 3^rd and 4^th Graders):

 

GIRLS - Saturdays 1:00 to 2:30 AND Wednesdays 6:00 to 7:30

 

BOYS - Saturdays 2:30 to 4:00 AND Wednesdays 6:00 to 7:30

 

(PLEASE NOTE:  NO session on Wednesday, October 31^st)    

 

 

 

What to bring, wear, etc.: 

 

§  Parent/Guardian must stay at the field.

 

§  Each player MUST bring a soccer ball and full water bottle to EVERY session.

 

o   Size 3 ball is best for Pre-K, K and 1^st graders.

 

o   Size 4 ball is best for 2^nd, 3^rd and 4^th graders.

 

§  All players MUST wear shin guards and shorts or sport pants. 

 

§  Leave all jewelry at home.

 

§  Cleats are optional for Little Kickers but recommended for Skills Academy.

 

§  WYS provides T-shirts for all players.
